Feel free to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning, meet your classmates or even hold an event in the new coffee shop. The project was implemented with the financial support of the Ministry of Industry, Trade and Business Development of the Novosibirsk Region. The idea for the coffee startup belongs to a team of the NSUEM students and graduates - Dmitry Zakharov and Artyom Kononov, 1st year master's degree students in Business Design for Companies, Anastasia Borodina, a 4th year bachelor’s degree student in Organisation Management, and Kirill Asanov, a bachelor’s degree graduate in Financial Market.

On the 18th of April, the first student-run cafe StudHall was opened in the lobby of the NSUEM 3rd academic building.

As Vladimir Romashin, the NSUEM Vice-Rector for External Relations and the very first guest of the cafe, has put it, "NSUEM is a university that forms the spirit of entrepreneurship in students and helps them to fulfil their specific business ideas. The opening of the first student-run coffee shop in our campus proves that we are on the right track".
According to Anastasia Borodina, the project team used a neural network to create a sketch for the StudHall open space. The focus was on the competencies that students develop at the university as well as existing student associations for the extracurricular activities. "These ideas are now embodied in a form of a mural on one of the walls in the coffee shop area. This way, we see the StudHall as a space for communication, self-development and implementation of creative ideas. Also, due to the presence of a stage, the coffee shop can be used as a venue for student events of various formats", Anastasia indicated ‘Stud Hall is a youth entrepreneurship project of the students and for students,‘ Kirill Asanov, StudHall’s co-founder, pointed out, ‘because of that concept, the price policy is much more loyal than in common commercial coffee shops. It is worth mentioning that the baristas are also NSUEM students.
The coffee shop had started out with a starter menu, which will be further improved to suit the tastes of the students, to include seasonal offerings and even create a branded coffee drink. More information about the planned events can be found in the StudHall’s VK group: https://vk.com/stud.hall.
